Gorilla Daddy League: Week 7 of Season 2, Cardinals Edition

D’Boiya Beast overseas his rebuilt Cardinals

It is coming together in Arizona. After losing their first game to a CPU team, the Seattle Seahawks, bounced back and defeated their division rivals. Russell Wilson was out of his mind in their early season Thursday night match-up throwing for 350+, 4 TDs and dazzling the pass rush with quick strikes.

This time, Wilson was limited with a mush rush and hands up approach. The Seattle offense was held under 150 yards and struggled with 3rd down conversions. D.K. Metcalf destroyed pro bowl CB Byron Murphy in game 1 but couldn’t get free unless making the highlight play in game 2.

Trey Lance outguns Carson Wentz again

The 49ers’ Wentz has a problem with the Arizona defense. Their overall team speed keeps the mobile gunslinger from his classic RPO threats and DC Saleh insists on stopping the run first. Cool beans because Lance is improving his recognition of pass defenses and zone coverages every week.

In the secondary, Cardinals defenders played too loose, too cocky, too much “me ball”.

Murphy was torched by every WR he covered.

Wentz repeatedly found his first target open on slants, outs and screens. Although he couldn’t RUSH for yardage, he made big plays that kept it close until pick-6s blew the game out for good.

The Cardinals defense is living off the spectacular play of LOLB Cadyn Truth. The league’s sack leader continues his personal assault on his own season record. Against the 49ers, he was credited with 7 sacks to tie Derrick Thomas record, tipped a pass to cause a pick-6, rushed a pass to cause a 2nd pick-6 and returned a fumble for 6 himself.

The Cardinals head into their bye-week with swagger and hype around the league’s youngest and fastest defense. Oregon 1st round selection, J. Holland, introduced himself to the SF offense with key hits and coverage on George Kittle.

What’s up on the auto-generated draft tho huh? Y’all not reading the stories in the franchise?

Spencer is leading the NCAA in sacks and leading Memphis Tigers to their 2nd top 25 defense standing since his arrival. A JuCo transfer from Angelina Community College, in Lufkin, Texas, Spencer wins with tenacity and hustle. His heart has been compared to Kevin Steele of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Shaq Allen is college football’s #1 WR despite not playing a game this season. The redshirt sophomore exploded last year and announced he would leave college to focus on his combine and potential going forward. Teams love that Allen is unafraid to go over the middle and block for his RBs.

Kaleb Wall comes from good stock. His cousin is NBA veteran John Wall. Kaleb played high school basketball and won the McDonald’s High School Dunk contest before committing to LSU.
